Iraqi forces find missiles and a factory for the manufacture of explosive devices in Kirkuk

Baghdad (ST): The Iraqi security forces announced that they had found weapons, missiles, and a factory for the manufacture of improvised explosive devices in the northern Kirkuk governorate.

Alsumaria news website quoted the police command as saying in a statement that  a force from the Third Federal Police Division, in coordination with an intelligence unit, carried out a search operation in Al-Shajara area, Hawija district, Kirkuk governorate, which resulted in the discovery of a factory for the manufacture of improvised explosive devices, silencers and missiles in addition to finding an electric generator.

In another context, the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity announced today that a number of northern electric power transmission lines were subjected to a terrorist attack in Kirkuk.

The ministry said in a statement that the electric power transmission line “Kirkuk Qayyarah Gas”  was subjected to a terrorist act of sabotage by detonating an explosive device on Tower 155 near the village of Dawoud Allouk in the Riyadh sub-district of the governorate, which led to its fall and suspension of work.

Yesterday, police units were subjected to a terrorist attack in the Riyadh district of Kirkuk, which resulted in the killing of a captain and the injury of a policeman.
