Iraqi counterterrorism forces kill an ISIS leader in Iraq’s Diyala province

The Iraqi forces on Saturday eliminated a leader in ISIS terrorist organization in Hamrin hills area in the province of Diyala, to northeast of Iraq.

The Iraqi News Agency quoted the Iraqi Army Spokesman Major General Yahya Rasoul as saying that “in a quality operation, the counter-terrorism forces managed to kill the terrorist nicknamed Abu Saad Al-Samin, a leader in ISIS terror organization, near Hamrin Hills Lake.”

He pointed out that this terrorist was responsible for booby-trapping and preparing terrorists for suicide attacks.

In the same context, the Iraqi forces arrested five terrorists in the north of Baghdad.

Baghdad Operation media office said in a statement that the Iraqi forces arrested the five terrorists during ambushes in areas in the north of the Iraqi capital. It pointed out that the Iraqi army seized and dismantled two explosive devices left behind by ISIS terrorists in Al-Manari area, south of Baghdad.

 Earlier on Saturday, an Iraqi soldier was killed in an attack by ISIS terrorists in Diyala province.
