Iraqi army backed by popular forces killed tens of Takfiri terrorists in heavy clashes in Western Anbar province.
At least 73 ISIL terrorists were killed in fierce clashes with Iraqi forces in al-Anbar.
On Monday, a military source said that at least 59 terrorists had been killed in heavy fighting between the Iraqi army and the ISIL Takfiri group in the same province.
“Heroes of the 8th Infantry Brigade of the Iraqi army, with support from the Iraqi Air Force (IAF), managed to kill 27 terrorists and injure 20 others in Albu-Juwairyi area near al-Habaniya site, located in Anbar province,” a statement issued by Iraq’s defense ministry said.
“Iraqi forces killed 3 terrorists and wounded 9 others, in addition to destroying a number of hideouts and vehicles belonging to the ISIL Takfiri group in Albu-Bali area,” the source added.
The ISIL Takfiri terrorists have threatened all communities, as they continue their atrocities in Iraq.
Senior Iraqi officials have blamed Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and some Gulf Arab states for the growing terrorism in their country.
The ISIL has links with Saudi intelligence and is believed to be indirectly supported by the Israeli regime.
Iraqi Army frees 110 villages in Salahuddin Province
Meanwhile, Iraqi army forces, backed by popular forces, have seized control of 110 villages from the ISIL terrorists in the Northern province of Salahuddin, parliamentary officials in Baghdad announced on Sunday.
“The army and popular forces have managed to free hundreds of villages, towns and neighborhoods in Salahuddin province from the hands of the
ISIL,” Abbas al-Bayati, the representative of State of Law Coalition at the Iraqi parliament, said on Sunday.
He further described winning back control over Beiji in Tikrit and its oil refinery as the main objective of the army and popular forces.
Bayati also underlined that the Iraqi army and volunteer forces’ victories against the terrorists have caused a change in the position of those who opposed supplying arms aid to the Baghdad government to keep it weak in its confrontation against the terrorists.
Iraqi Forces Launch Wide-Scale Operation in Al-BouAjil, Al-Dor
Iraqi security forces, backed by volunteer forces, launched on Sunday a wide-scale operation against terrorists in Tikrit entering Al-BouAjil village and Al-Dor city in Salahuddin province, amid collapse among ISIL Takfiri terrorists’ ranks.
Al-Manar correspondent in Iraq reported that the Iraqi army, popular mobilization forces and resistance factions have totally liberated Al-Dor region in Salahuddin province.
In Al-BouAjil, the Iraqi forces continued their progress and destroyed a truck driven by a suicide bomber.
The forces pushed into the villages from multiple directions on Sunday with reports suggesting Al-BouAjil will likely be completely purged of ISIL in hours.
Iraqi security forces and volunteer fighters struggled to advance on Saturday into the two towns of al-Alam and al-Dor near Tikrit achieving huge progress despite fierce struggling from ISIL militants.
“We are facing a strong resistance from terrorist groups and we are trying to surround Daesh (ISIL) inside al-Alam and al-Dor and cut all supply routes for them,” said al-Alam Mayor Laith al-Jubouri.
Army advancing in towns near Tikrit
In the same context, Iraqi security forces have made major advances in their fight against the ISIL Takfiri group in the two towns of al-Alamand al-Dour near Tikrit, claiming the lives of dozens of the terrorists, an Iraqi official said.
“We are trying to surround ISIL inside al-Alam and al-Dour and cut all supply routes for them,” said al-Alam mayor Laith al-Jubouri.
Army and militia fighters entered the Southern and Eastern parts of al-Dour on Friday.
According to reports on Saturday, the Iraqi soldiers inflicted hefty losses on the ISIL terrorists in the village of Kuwaishat in Fallujah, as the army continued its huge offensive to liberate Tikrit from the control of the Takfiri group.
The ISIL terrorists escaped the village and left their weapons and vehicles behind.
Thousands of government troops, Shiite and Sunni popular forces have started a major offensive in the Iraqi city of Samarra to oust the ISIL terrorists from the strategic province of Salahuddin, which includes the ancient city of Tikrit.
