Iraqi academics denounce Turkish regime’s interference in Libya

Baghdad (ST): A number of Iraqi journalists and academics have denounced the Turkish regime’s interference in Libya, stressing that President of the Turkish regime was leading Turkey to failure and fatal tracks.

Chief Editor of the Iraqi al-Sabah newspaper Abbas Abboud said that the Turkish regime was trying to revive the obsolete Ottoman dream by expanding eastward in Central Asia and southward in Iraq and Syria. He pointed out that the failure of Erdogan’s conspiracies against Syria and Iraq in addition to the failure of the Muslim brotherhoods’ conspiracy in Egypt made the Turkish regime seek other regions such as Libya.

In turn, security specialist Sarmad al-Bayyati said that the Turkish greed began to expand because there was no real deterrent from the international community, noting that after its shameful role in bringing thousands of terrorists to Syria and Iraq, the Turkish regime started to head towards the African north by flagrantly interfering in Libya’s internal affairs.

Researcher Haidar al-Barzanji said that Erdogan regime’s attempt to impose hegemony on Libya would have adverse consequences.

Iraqi political analyst Hazem al-Bawi said that the failure of Erdogan’s policy in Syria and Iraq pushed him to compensate through blatant interference in Libya’s internal affairs.
