The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday called for international intervention to prevent an Israeli military attack on the city of Rafah in the south of Gaza Strip, and stop the forcible displacement of people from it.
The Iraqi News Agency (INA) quoted the ministry as saying in a statement: “We are following with great concern the news that confirms that the Israeli occupation is planning to commit a new humanitarian catastrophe and a massacre by carrying out a military operation in the city of Rafah, south of Gaza Strip.”
The Ministry called for international intervention to prevent forced displacement plans pursued by the occupation, reiterating the need to stop the Israeli aggression, and to deliver humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.
