BAGHDAD, (ST)- Iraq’s Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi has stressed coordination between Iraq and Syria to control borders, pointing out that it is in Iraq’s interest to deal with the Syrian government.
“There is continuous coordination between us and the Syrian side on the issue of controlling the borders. It is our interest to deal with the Syrian government not with a group of gunmen,” al-Abadi said in a press conference in Baghdad on Tuesday, according to “alSumaria news”.
“We hope that our brothers, the Kurds, will join the ranks of the Hashed Shaabi in Mosul”, al-Abadi added, denying the existence of any problem in the issue of the displaced people in Mosul.
The Iraqi army and support forces continue their military operations to restore the city of Nineveh from “Deash” terrorist organization. The start of operations was announced on October 17.
