Baghdad, (ST)- Iraq’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Ali al-Hakim has renewed his country’s support for Syria in its war on terrorism.
According to the Iraqi Foreign Ministry website, al-Hakim said in a dialgue forum that “”Iraq supports Syria’s restoration of its role in the Arab region and the elemination of terrorism in the country and it also supports reopening the border crossings between Syria and Iraq and reactivating trade between the two countries.”
Al-Hakim said that “Syria’s security and unity necessitates ending the crisis in the country,” pointing out that the Syrians’ agreement is the guarantee for solving the crisis.”
The Iraqi minister also affirmed his country’s support for the Palestinian people and for restoring the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people including the right to establish their independent state.
He also expressed Iraq’s support for Estokholm’s meeting aiming to end the crisis in Yemen and keep yemen united.
