BAGHDAD , (ST)_ Iraq ‘s Prime Minister Nuri Al-Maliki stressed that his country “stands with the will of the Syrian people and against foreign intervention, violence and supports what was concluded by the international community on the need to find a peaceful solutions and a way out of the long-lasted crisis in Syria.”
In a joint press conference with his Egyptian counterpart, Hisham Qandil , al- Maliki added that Iraq and Egypt ” need to join effort in order to prevent foreign interventions and find out solutions according to peaceful ways, away from violence and the use of force,” stressing that the sabotage and the use of arms “will only implant grudges and open the doors to foreign intervention. ”
Al- Maliki noted the need to establish “a working Egyptian- Iraqi group that acts rationally to heal the situation , prevent interventions , find out peaceful solutions that meet people ‘s aspirations,” considering that “talk about support of moderation and peaceful solution to the problems in Syria is a manifestation of the Egyptian and Iraqi position.”
“I think that everybody now looks for a peaceful way to end the crisis in Syria.” Al-Maliki added
For his part, the Egyptian Prime Minister said that it was agreed with the Iraqi side “with regard to Syrian affairs on the necessity and inevitability of halting the Syrian bloodshed ,the importance of a political solution and non foreign intervention.”
