Iraq stresses the need to benefit from Syria’s experience in industrial cities and zones

The Iraqi Minister of Industry Manhal Aziz Khabbaz has stressed the importance of exchanging experiences between Syria and Iraq and facilitating mutual trade. He has also affirmed the need to benefit from Syria’s experience in the field of industrial cities and zones.

Khabbaz made the remarks on Saturday upon his arrival in Damascus on Saturday to take part in the 4th Conference of the Arab Federation of Arab Industrial Cities and Zones scheduled to kick off on Monday.

Khabbaz leads a delegation of Iraqi businessmen, industrialists and officials in charge of industrial cities and zones.

Iraq’s participation in this event is a step towards integration among Arab industrial cities and zones, Khabbaz told journalists, pointing out that the conference contributes to achieving Arab economic integration and stresses the need of Syria’s return to the Arab environment.

 Iraq’s participation will be wide and effective in terms of bringing points of view closer and exchanging experiences and ideas, the minister affirmed, hailing Syria’s key experience in the domain of industrial cities and zones.

On his part, Adel Ekab Al-Hussein, Head of the Union of Iraqi Industries, said that Iraq’s participation in this conference boosts its trade and industrial ties with other Arab countries, particularly Syria.

The 4th Conference of the Arab Federation of Arab Industrial Cities and Zones will kick off on Monday in Damascus with wide participation by Arab investors, researchers and businessmen. The event will discuss work papers on prospects of investment locally and in the Arab region.
