BAGHDAD, (ST)_Iraq’s President Barham Saleh and Syria’s Ambassador in Baghdad Sultan Jad’an Al-Dandah discussed on Monday bilateral relations and the ways of developing them.
The discussion that was held at Al-Salam Palace dealt with the importance of developing relations for the common interest of the two countries.
“The stability of the region necessitates the achievement of stability in Iraq and Syria and supporting cooperation between the region’s states,” the Iraqi president said, according to a statement issued by the Iraqi Presidency after the meeting.
Saleh made it clear that the international community and region’s states face the challenge of overcoming the crises and tensions in the Middle East.
He referred to the necessity of unifying efforts and holding dialogues to consolidate regional stability.
