Iraq Reaffirms its Firm Position in Supporting Palestinians

The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned and expressed its categorical rejection of the statements made by the minister in the Israeli occupation government, Bezalel Smotrich, in which he denied the existence of the Palestinian people.

In a statement reported by the Iraqi News Agency Waa, the ministry’s spokesperson, Ahmad Al Sahhaf, said: ”Iraq expresses its condemnation of the statements of the Israeli Minister of Finance, in which he denied the existence of the brotherly Palestinian people. Iraq also condemns the minister’s use of a map of his entity that includes borders from Jordan and the occupied Palestinian lands”.

Al Sahhaf expressed Iraq’s categorical rejection of incitement rhetoric and all practices that contradict  the human and moral rights of the Palestinian people.  Iraq renews its firm and supportive stance for the Palestinians and their right, which will not be subject to statute of limitations.

Earlier this month, Smotrich called in a racist and inciting speech to erase the town of Howrah, south of Nablus, from existence.
