Iraq and Algeria condemn the Israeli aggression against the Iranian consulate in Damascus

Iraq renewed its condemnation of the Israeli aggression against the Iranian consulate building in Damascus, describing it as sinful.

The office of Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani said in a statement that during a phone call to Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, Al-Sudani expressed his sincere condolences of the government and people of Iraq over the victims of the Zionist aggression against the consulate building and his strong condemnation of this sinful aggression.

Al-Sudani pointed out the depth of the bilateral relations between Iraq and Iran and the importance of working to strengthen them in the interest of the two friendly peoples.

He also stressed that the continuation of the aggression against Gaza will lead the region and its security to a more dangerous situation, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities in protecting the Palestinian people and preventing the conflict from spreading throughout the region.

In turn, Algeria strongly condemned the Zionist aggression against the Iranian consulate building in Damascus, stressing that it constitutes a violation of international norms and a blatant attack on the sovereignty of sisterly Syria.

The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement: Algeria expresses its strong condemnation of this criminal act, which is a flagrant violation of international laws and norms concerned with the sanctity of diplomatic and consular missions, in addition to being a serious infringement on the sovereignty of the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic.

In its statement, Algeria expressed deepest condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and wishes speedy recovery for the injured. It also renewed its full solidarity with Iran and Syria in the face of this blatant aggression that threatens to escalate the situation and deepen the state of insecurity and instability in the entire region.
