Baghdad (ST): The Iraqi forces began this morning carrying out a large-scale security operation in the Al-Rutba desert in Anbar Governorate, western Iraq, to hunt down the remnants of (ISIS) terrorists.
The Security Media Cell stated in a statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that units of the Iraqi army, the Counter-Terrorism Service and the Rapid Response Division began today, according to accurate intelligence information, to implement a large-scale security operation in the Rutba desert within the Anbar Operations Sector with air support from the Air Force and Army Aviation.
The statement indicated that this operation comes “to pursue the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs, search for their hideouts, and to clear the areas within the responsibility sector.”
The Iraqi forces continue their operations in various regions to pursue the remnants of ISIS terrorists and destroy their hideouts.
