Iranian official: Western Countries are not for a Peaceful Solution to the Crisis in Syrian

TEHRAN, (ST)_ ” Western countries do not want to ensure the  positive atmosphere for a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria through national dialogue among  various components of the Syrians”, said spokesman for the  Iranian foreign ministry Ramin Mehmanparast.

” Puppets of these countries perpetrate terrorist acts inside Syria, while  foreign countries  which pursue political goals in the Middle East seek  to thwart the efforts of United Nations envoys to Syria,: Kofi Annan and Lakhdar al-Brahimi”, the Iranian spokesman added in a press conference in Tehran on Tuesday.

He added that the reforms the Syrian people aspire to can only be achieved by the Syrians, and through national mechanisms, away from any foreign interference in Syria’s internal affairs.

He called for continued efforts that avail convening a national dialogue and to support al-Ibrahimi efforts to this end.

On the other hand, the Iranian official condemned the recent Israeli aggression against the Sudan. “We believe it is necessary that the UN Security Council should  take a  deterrent action to repel  the repeated Israeli aggressions against countries of the region”.
