Iranian minister: Syria and Iran have agreed on establishing a joint bank and free trade zones

Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development Rostam Qasemi has affirmed that his country and Syria have agreed on launching a joint bank and free trade zones.

Qasemi made the remarks on Friday following a work visit to Syria during which he led the Iranian delegation to the talks of the Iranian-Syrian Economic Committee.

He pointed out that Syria and Iran reached new productive agreements on working to establish a joint bank, to open branches for the local banks operating in both countries as well as establishing free trade zones.

The Iranian official pointed out that the talks focused on enhancing the manufacturing of Iranian products in Syria, including making tractors and agricultural equipment. The talks also dealt with cancelling custom taxes and with consolidating mutual trade exchange.
