Iranian Minister of Transport: Talks to link railways between Iran and Syria via Iraq reach good stages

Tehran (ST):  Iranian Minister of Transport, Mohammad Islami, has announced that the talks on connecting the transit” with Syria via railways in Iraqi lands have reached good stages.

 In a radio interview, Islami said that negotiations are continuous, referring to the importance of economic exchange with the countries of the resistance axis.

Islami stressed that one of the goals of the US, its allies and affiliated groups behind waging wars and stirring up conflicts in the region is to undermine the infrastructure in their countries as well as to create chaos and instability. 

Islami stated that the US, its allies and mercenaries planned for these wars precisely to prevent any economic and commercial cooperation and exchange between these countries.

In July 2019, Syria, Iran and Iraq signed the minutes of a meeting for cooperation in the field of comprehensive transport.
