Tehran, (ST) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani reiterated that the American occupation should withdraw from the Syrian territories.
In the context of his weekly press conference on Monday, Kanaani said: American forces cannot be present in the Syrian territory without the permission of the Syrian government, because it is a violation of Syria’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty, which is unacceptable.
On the other hand, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that his country welcomes of the initiatives of friendly countries, particularly the Sultanate of Oman, on the return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear agreement.
Kanaani said: We have repeatedly announced that we are committed to the negotiation path for the return of all parties to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. “We consider the negotiation path to be an appropriate process as various negotiations were conducted in this regard, and some friendly governments made initiatives to bring viewpoints closer between the parties”, he added.
Regarding the proposed plans for negotiations and American reactions, Kanaani said that the diplomatic process and exchange of messages is still open, and continues through different paths. “The plans are not intended to be a blueprint for a new agreement, but rather an idea to help bring all parties together again”, he added.
