Iranian Foreign Ministry: The European Troika’s statement is unconstructive

On September 10th, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani stressed that the European Troika’s statement doubting Tehran’s negotiating intentions is unconstructive.

Kanaani said that the statement serves the Zionist entity’s efforts to thwart the negotiations and contradicts Paris, London and Berlin’s talk about its good intentions to make the negotiating process a success.

“Iran advises the three European countries to play a more active role in order to provide a solution to end the few remaining differences instead of entering the stage of destroying the diplomatic process,”Kanaani was quoted by the Iranian news agency IRNA as saying.

He referred to the passivity of the European parties in recent months.

Kanaani added:“It is sad that three European countries, with this ill-considered statement, took a step towards the Zionist entity, which seeks to thwart the negotiations,”

He expressed regret that the European countries fully support a regime that has hundreds of nuclear warheads and does not adhere to any of the international non-proliferation mechanisms, and in return opposes the Iranian peaceful nuclear program, which was subjected to the largest inspections.

Kanani advised the Europeans not to compensate for their failure to fulfill their many commitments to Iran by using threatening language.

The three European countries, France, Germany and Britain, had questioned Iran’s seriousness in seeking to revive the nuclear agreement signed in 2015 and from which the United States exited in 2018.
