Iranian Foreign Ministry: Relations with Syria are strong and strategic

Tehran (ST):  The Iranian Foreign Ministry affirmed that the relations between Iran and Syria are strong and strategic.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said in a press conference that “Iranian-Syrian relations are strong and are being followed up at strategic levels.”

Regarding the Vienna talks, Khatibzadeh indicated that the focus in Vienna will be on an effective and complete lifting of the sanctions that contradict the nuclear agreement, which were imposed on Iran after the unilateral American withdrawal, considering that the starting point of these talks is a secondary issue because the issues of disagreement are clear, as America must change its aggressive approach.

 

He pointed out that the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Mariano Grossi, will visit Tehran soon to hold talks with the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.
