Iranian Foreign Ministry: Imposing economic sanctions on independent countries is one of the most important manifestations of Washington’s violation of human rights
The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that imposing sanctions to put pressure on independent countries that oppose American policy is a clear violation of human rights that negatively affects the peoples of the world.
“By taking a look at America’s positions and policy in the field of human rights in its internal and external dimensions, it appears that Americans were among the most important human rights violators in the world,” The ministry said in its annual report on human rights violations by America in the world.
The ministry noted that studies which were conducted in 2023 revealed that Washington, as in previous years, continued to violate the basic and primary rights of human beings at different levels.
The report pointed out that American politicians, under the pretext of human rights, exert comprehensive pressure every year on countries that refuse to act in accordance with their political interests and desires, or impose sanctions on them.
It indicated that resorting to imposing sanctions, regardless of its effect in deepening the economic recession, has effects that cannot be achieved.
In a related context, the report indicated that in the wake of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood and after the widespread attacks by the Zionist entity against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, America provided all kinds of support and lethal weapons as a major partner in crimes for this entity. The ministry added that America thwarted the efforts of the international community to achieve a ceasefire as it used its veto against 4 Security Council resolutions regarding this moratorium and Palestine’s membership in the United Nations.
It was revealed the existence of reports showing the direct presence of American military personnel in the Zionist entity’s operations room and battlefields, which practically confirms America’s responsibility in participating in the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
The report pointed out that “a careful analysis of America’s human rights positions over the past decades clearly confirms that American politicians, in the context of their alleged approach to supporting human rights, have provided the necessary foundations for their illegal interventions in various parts of the world and have become one of the most important violators of these rights in the world.”
