Iranian Foreign Ministry: America recorded a miserable failure in the Security Council

Tehran,(ST)-The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the America United States had failed miserably in the Security Council in its inability to persuade member states to extend the arms embargo on Iran.

On the visit of the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, to Iran later today, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said in his press conference that the visit falls within a technical framework defined by the nuclear agreement and has nothing to do with the issue of activating the trigger mechanism to reinstate the UN embargo on Iran.

Khatibzadeh reiterated his denial of the US allegations about the detention of Iranian ships bound for Venezuela and said that united the states has not detained any Iranian ships bound for Venezuela.

Earlier this month, Iran’s ambassador to Venezuela, Hajjatollah Soltani, denied an American newspaper’s allegations about stopping tankers carrying Iranian fuel while they were heading to Venezuela.
