Iranian Foreign Ministry: Al-Moallem visit comes within the framework of continued communication for finding political solutions to crisis in Syria

 

Tehran – Director General of the Foreign Ministry’s Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Department, Mohammad Irani said that the visit of Deputy Premier, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem to Iran came at the proper time and circumstances and in continuation to the standing communication between officials of the two countries following the victories achieved in Aleppo.

In an interview with Al-Alam News Channel on Sunday and reported by SANA, Irani reiterated his country’s welcome of consultations between the Syrian and Iranian officials, stressing that the victories achieved in Aleppo during the past month and the late field developments serve the interests of the Syrian people, government and all parties in Syria.

 

Earlier, al-Moallem stressed during meetings with Iranian officials the importance of exploiting the victory upon terrorism in Aleppo for finding a political settlement to the crisis in Syria which maintains the country’s unity and sovereignty.
