Iranian Foreign Affairs: US Veto Against Granting Palestine Full Membership Is Irresponsible, Unconstructive Step

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani strongly condemned the irresponsible and unconstructive vote of the United States of America against the draft resolution granting Palestine full membership in the United Nations.

“This action by Washington has revealed the deceitful nature of American foreign policy and the isolation of this country’s attitude towards the international community more than ever before to world public opinion,” Kanani said in a statement today.

Kanani added that the unilateral and unlimited support provided by the American regime to the Zionist entity in the political, economic, military and international fields at the expense of the American people and at the expense of regional and international security has led to the loss of America’s role and credibility before world public opinion and proved that it is an impartial and irresponsible actor in the world community.

Kanani stressed the legitimate and undeniable right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital on the entire historical land of Palestine from the sea to the river.

Kanani concluded by saying that the Islamic Republic of Iran believes in the will of the resistant and heroic Palestinian people, who will eventually defeat their enemies, headed by the criminal racist Zionist entity.

In a related context, the Iranian capital of Tehran today witnessed popular demonstrations denouncing the Zionist occupation entity’s crimes against the Palestinian people and the peoples of the region.

In a statement, participants expressed Iran’s continued standing with the Palestinian people in their resistance and steadfastness against the Zionist enemy.

They affirmed their support for the Iranian military strike directed at the Zionist entity, and their support for the armed forces of their country in confronting this usurping entity.

US police arrest more than 100 pro-Palestine students at Columbia University

The US police arrested more than 100 students at Columbia University in New York City for organizing a protest in which they expressed their rejection of the genocide committed by the Israeli occupation entity in the Gaza Strip and solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Police sources said that they arrested the hundred students after they refused to disperse the protest they organized, which began last Wednesday by erecting tents and raising banners on the South Lawn of the campus.

It is worth mentioning that many American universities have recently witnessed several demonstrations and protests rejecting the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since the seventh of last October.
