Iranian FM summons ambassador of Turkish regime to protest against Erdogan’s provocative statements

Tehran (ST): The Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the ambassador of the Turkish regime in Tehran and handed him a letter of protest against the interventional and unacceptable  statements made by head of the Turkish regime Recep Tayyeb Erdogan during his recent visit to Azerbaijan.

The spokesman for the Ministry Sa’ed Katib Zadeh said in a statement: “ The ambassador of the Turkish regime was summoned to be informed of Iran’s severe objection to Erdogan’s speech and to present an immediate explanation from the Turkish government for Erdogan’s interventional and unacceptable statements he made during his visit to Azerbaijan.

He added that Iran does not allow anybody to interfere in the unity of its territories, noting that the era of the empires which seek to launch wars and expand has  finished.

Earlier, Erdogan read a separatist poem against the unity of the Iranian territories during an event he attended in Azerbaijan along with his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev.
