Iranian delegation arrives in Syria for several-day visit

DAMASCUS, (ST)_The Speaker of the People’s Assembly[Parliament], Hammoda Sabbagh, affirmed on Tuesday that Syria and Iran will achieve victory thanks to the peoples’ belief in their rights, saying that the relations between the two countries are deep and strong.
 
Sabbagh told reporters while receiving the Speaker of the Islamic Shoura council of Iran, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who arrived with Iranian delegation at the Damascus International Airport:  “As we have always been together during the days of peace, we are also together during the days of wars and blockades being imposed on our two countries.”
 
For his part, Ghalibaf asaid that the visit of Iranian delegation comes at a time when the terrorists have been defeated despite all the support they have received from the US and at the time of the start of the reconstruction process in Syria.
 
He clarified that the talks to be held by the Iranian delegation in Syria will enhance Iran’s support for Syria, looking forwards to the approval of the comprehensive cooperation agreement reached between the Iranian and Syrian governments as soon as possible. 
 
Ghalibaf congratulated the Syrian government and people on the success of the presidential election which embodied the Syrian people’s loyalty to their homeland and their interest in security and stability of their country., according to the Syrian News Agency (SANA).
 
He stressed that all parties of the axis of resistance are happy with  the election success, because this axis sees Syria as a front line for the resistance.
 
Ghalibaf arrived in Damascus heading a delegation that includes a number of members of the Islamic Shura Council on a visit that will last for several days upon an official invitation by the People’s Assembly.
