Iran: Without Syria and Iraq’s steadfastness in the face of aggressors and terrorists the region would be in dangerous situation

TEHRAN, (ST)- Iran’s Defense Minister, Brigadier General Amir Hatami, has affirmed that had it not been for the steadfastness of the Syrian and Iraqi peoples, their armed forces and their governments in the face of the criminal aggressors and terrorists, the region would be in a dangerous situation.

During his meeting on Saturday with his Iraqi counterpart Anad Sa’doun al-Jabouri, Hatami said that “the measures of big powers, and above all the United States, revealed that they have hatched long-term plots to destabilize the region.”

He said that no peace or stability can be attained in the region as long as the foreign forces maintain their presence in this region and interfere in its countries’ affairs.

 He expressed Iran’s readiness to help boost Iraq’s defense power and supply all requirements of the country’s armed forces.

On his part, the Iraqi defense minister said his country seeks to boost the capabilities of its armed forces to uproot terrorism in the region in cooperation with Iran and added that Baghdad would spare no efforts to eliminate terrorists.
