Iran: US unilateral tendency undermines the United Nations
NEW YORK, (ST)- Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Majid Takht Ravanchi has criticized the unilateral tendency of the United States, affirming that this unilateralism undermines the United Nations.
“The United States’ violations of international laws have reached a dangerous level. The US has breached the nuclear deal with Iran and the Security Council’s Resolution No. 2231,” said Ravanchi in a tweet on Saturday, adding that Washington deliberately misinterpreted this resolution and arrogantly released threats against UN members states, even against its close allies.
US President Donald Trump announced his country’s withdrawal from the nuclear deal with Iran in 2018. He then renewed imposing sanctions against Tehran in a challenge to the international community’s will and in violation of international resolutions.
