Iran urges international community to force “Israel” to join the NPT

New York – Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Zahra Ershadi has urged the international community to force the Israeli entity to join the Non-proliferation Treaty (NPT).

The international community must hold the Israeli entity accountable through resolutions and decisions that call upon this entity to renounce its possession of nuclear weapons, accede to the NPT as a non-nuclear weapon party, and subject all its nuclear facilities and activities to comprehensive IAEA safeguards,” Ershadi said in her statement addressing the “High-Level Plenary Meeting of the United Nations General Assembly To Promote the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear-Weapons”, according to the Iranian News Agency (IRNA).
