Iran to the Security Council: We will hold those responsible for the two terrorist attacks in Kerman accountable

Iran announced that it is committed to using all available mechanisms to ensure that those responsible for the terror attacks in Kerman yesterday are held accountable.

The Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Iran to the United Nations  AmeerSaeed Iravani , said in a letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres, and to the Ambassador of France, who currently holds the rotating presidency of the Security Council:” This shameful act deliberately targeted innocent people in two terrorist bombings near the shrine of the martyr Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani in the city of Kerman on the fourth anniversary of his martyrdom. The terrorist attack has so far led to the martyrdom of at least 103 people, including children and women and the injury of 211 other people, some of whom are in serious condition”.

Iravani stated that comprehensive investigations are currently underway to identify and arrest the perpetrators and planners of this heinous crime, and at the same time the Islamic Republic of Iran is committed to using all available mechanisms to ensure that those responsible and their accomplices in this heinous terrorist act are held accountable.

He pointed out that his country clearly condemns such heinous terrorist acts and will spare no effort in seeking justice for the victims of this incident, adding: “The Islamic Republic of Iran requests the Secretary-General and the Security Council to immediately and publicly condemn this terrible terrorist attack”.
