If other parties change their position regarding nuclear deal, Iran will take necessary decisions based on the principles of its foreign policy and will protect its interests, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said.
‘Iran is still complying with its commitments under the JCPOA,’ Ali Akbar Salehi made the remarks Monday in a ceremony on the occasion of the 12th anniversary of Iran’s National Nuclear Technology Day (April 9).
‘ It is by no means acceptable for us that the costs of JCPOA’s implementation be paid only by one of its two sides and on the other side some countries wriggle out of their commitments,’ he said.
‘Despite the preciseness of the text of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), some parties showed lack of commitment and as a result context of distrust still exists,’ Salehi added.
Iranian senior officials believe that all signatories should take advantage of JCPOA interests and achievements and do their duties in this case, he noted.
After signing the nuclear deal and start of the implementation process, Iran has proved its commitment under the JCPOA and the IAEA has so far verified Iran’s compliance with nuclear accord for ten times, Salehi reiterated.
‘Based on the index 3 of the JCPOA, maintaining constructive cooperation and interaction with active countries in this field is on the agenda,’ he said.
Elsewhere in his remarks Salehi referred to powerhouse field, saying over the past years, the excavation operations for construction of units 2 and 3 of Bushehr nuclear power plant in volume of 1 million cubic meters has been carried out simultaneously with equipping the Russian contractor workshop.
He also pointed to nuclear achievements in health and treatment fields, saying experts from the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran succeeded in achieving technology of manufacturing nuclear battery.
