Iran: There is no solution to the Palestinian cause except by ending the Zionist occupation

New York (ST): Iran’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Irwani, confirmed that the silence of the UN Security Council towards the Palestinian issue rendered UN resolutions ineffective, and allowed the Israeli entity to continue its crimes against the Palestinians.

In a speech during the UN Security Council meeting yesterday on the situation in the Middle East, Irwani said: “The Palestinian issue can only be resolved through ending the occupation and recognizing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination, and this requires the full restoration and protection of these rights.”

Irwani stressed his country’s position in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to resist in the face of the injustice and aggression of the apartheid entity, noting that the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories is an urgent and worrisome issue that requires the attention of the international community and immediate action in the light of the continued violence of the Israeli entity and its gross and systematic violations against the Palestinian people.
