Iran.. The Zionist entity’s possession of weapons of mass destruction poses a threat to international peace and security

The Permanent Representative of Iran to the United Nations in The Hague, Hadi Farjovand, stressed that the Zionist entity’s possession of chemical weapons and weapons of mass destruction poses a serious threat to peace and security in the region and the world.

Iranian News Agency IRNA quoted Farjovand as saying today in a speech before the 107th session of the Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons OPCW held in The Hague, Netherlands: “The political and military support for the Israeli entity has made it repeat its attacks on Lebanon and Gaza by bombing crowded and civilian areas and displacing their residents,” describing what is happening as genocide against defenseless civilians.
In this context, Farjovand referred to published reports on the Zionist entity’s use of chemical weapons, depleted uranium, white phosphorus and other banned weapons in its attacks on Lebanon, in addition to Israeli violation of international law.  The Iranian official called on the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons to use its specialized capabilities to continuously monitor developments in Gaza and Lebanon and follow up on such events.
