Iran: The presence of nuclear weapons in the hands of the Zionist entity is a threat to humanity

Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Erwani, warned of the danger of having nuclear weapons in the hands of the Israeli entity, stressing that this represents a threat to humanity and a tool for blackmail.

The Iranian news agency IRNA quoted Erwani as saying at a conference on a Middle East zone free of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction: “The recent nuclear threats made by officials in the Israeli entity against Iran and Palestine highlight the danger of having these weapons in the hands of the illegal entity, while it raises real concerns about nuclear proliferation, poses a major threat to regional stability, and calls for immediate action to address this issue.”

Erwani explained that addressing this issue lies in the establishment of nuclear-weapon-free zones, especially in the Middle East, stressing that the establishment of such a zone is now more necessary than ever, and an essential step towards a safer and more reassuring future.

Erwani noted that at the international level there is an urgent need to address the risks associated with the potential sharing and proliferation of nuclear weapons by the United States and NATO.
