Iran Support for Syria against US, Zionists Sedition Unchangeable

Islamic Republic has an unchangeable stance on protecting Syria’s independence and sovereignty against US and Zionists’ sedition, Iran’s new Ambassador to Damascus Javad Torkabadi said on Sunday.

He made the remarks in a commemoration ceremony for the late Imam Khomeini held in Damascus.

Iran will counter efforts for weakening the resistance front by all means, the envoy noted.

He said that Iranians firm stance in support of the oppressed people has roots in the teachings of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic in Iran, Imam Khomeini.

 People in Iran and other countries including Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan Republic, Russia, UK and many other places marked the 28th anniversary of the sad demise of the late Imam who was the leader of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution which saw the overthrow of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah (king) of the country.

Imam khomeini passed away in June 3, 1989, at the age of 89.
