Iran Successfully Tests S300 Air-Defense System

Tehran –Iran successfully tested S-300 air defense system in Damavand military drills on Saturday.

A number of high ranking Iranian military officials also were present in the drills which were held in an unnamed air defense base.

The operation was aimed at evaluating the performance of the S-300 system in targeting a wide range of missiles and drones as well as assessing the human performance in operating the system.

Iranian military personnel completely operated the system according to simulation scenarios which replicated detection, identification, tracing, and targeting of the potential aerial threats.

 The system also fully managed to target and destroys aerial vehicles successfully.

On Dec 4, spokesman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Hossein Naqavi-Hosseini said that Russia fully delivered all parts of S-300 air defense system to Iran and the two countries have agreed to develop logistical and technical cooperation.

Naqvi-Hosseini said that the air defense system was finally handed over to Iran despite the ups and downs and Iran currently has taken possession of the air defense technology.
