Iran ‘Strongly’ Condemns Terrorist Attack in France

Tehran Foreign Ministry spokesman strongly condemned the Thursday night terrorist attack in the French city of Nice which claimed lives of 84 people and injured many more, according to IRNA.

According to Foreign Ministry’s Media Department, BahramQassemi, expressing his ‘deep sorrow’ over the terrorist attack in Nice said, ‘Any negligence and double standard in dealing with terrorism is deplorable and doomed to failure.’

Expressing his condolences to the bereaved families, Qassemi said; ‘As Iran has always said, terrorism is an ominous phenomenon which cannot be uprooted but with international cooperation and consensus.’

At least 84 have lost their lives and some 50 others sustained injuries when a truck ran through a crowd of people celebrating the French National Day, commonly known as the Bastille Day, in the southern French city of Nice.

The terrorist group of Daesh (ISIS) along with some other multi-national extremist terrorist groups were supported and armed by certain anti- Syria countries in the Middle East and West such as the US, Britain, Saudi Arabia and sometimes France and were dispatched to Syria to topple the legal government of that country. These terrorist groups, which have occupied parts of Syria and Iraq and massacred tens of thousands of innocent people in these two countries, have targeted European countries, too.

France should give up its policy of ‘good terrorists, bad terrorists’ – Iran

On the other hand, the French government should respect its national ideals for a decisive fight against terrorism and abandon the policy of ‘good terrorists and bad terrorists’, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Office for Political Affairs Hamid Aboutalebi said on Friday.

Aboutalebi underlined the need for an international unified action against terrorism in a message posted on his twitter page.

He expressed his condolences for the families of those killed in the Thursday night terrorist attack in the French city of Nice which claimed lives of 84 people and injured many more.

Terrorists have changed the sophisticated methods of terror and they are using now easier ways for killing people and committing crimes, the official said.

We need to adopt a unified international action to counrter the altered ways terrorists are employing to do their criminal actions, he added.

Aboutalebi underlined that terrorism do not differentiate between East or West, Middle East or Europe and terrorists do terrorist actions everywhere in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, Syria and Yemen.

One can not condemn some terrorist actions, support some others and in the meantime encourage other one, he noted.

The official said that the international community should give up disagreements and adopt an absolute opposition against terrorism.

The French government should respect its national ideals for a decisive fight against terrorism and abandon the policy of good terrorists and bad terrorists, he added.

Aboutalebi said ‘We should believe in fighting all types of terrorism.’
