Iran Stresses Syrian True Envoys Presence in Syria Talks

Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Wednesday that true representatives of Syrian people should be present at the negotiation table.

In a meeting with Deputy Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Syria, Ramzy Ezzeld in Ramzy, on Wednesday, Amir-Abdollahian also underlined that the case of humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people should not be politicized.

He said access to political solution to the crisis in Syria will be possible only in case of acknowledging current realities and attending to the principles of sovereignty.

Amir-Abdollahian added that in order to attain a political solution, serious attention should be paid to the role and status of Syria in region and stern campaign against terrorism and refusing to have instrumental use of terrorism to meet one-sided objectives.

He reiterated that Iran is ready to help find a proper solution to the crisis in Syria.

‘Since the beginning, Tehran has been emphasizing that the crisis in Syria does not have any military and security solution, but unfortunately certain parties blatantly violate their commitments in implementing ceasefire in Khan Touman and attack a hospital in Aleppo, while practically supporting terrorist groups and armed rebel groups, trying to politically exploit them as a tramp card in the negotiation table.

Ramzy said in turn that Syrian issue is in a critical state, so a political solution should soon be found to end crisis hitting Syria. He underlined the significant role and standing of Iran in this connection.

He said now, Iran’s stances are needed to find a political solution to get rid of crisis hitting Syria.
