Iran’ s Raisi confirms his country’s support for Syria in the ordeal following devastating earthquake
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi affirmed that the Islamic Republic of Iran stands by Syria in the ordeal it is exposed to as a result of the devastating earthquake, expressing sincere condolences and sympathy to all Syrians and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
During the phone call he made with President Bashar Al-Assad this afternoon, the Iranian President considered that, based on the strategic relations that unite the two countries and based on humanitarian principles, Iran cannot but show solidarity with the Syrian people in these compelling circumstances, and do everything that would mitigate the situation and the effects of this ordeal in order to support the tireless efforts of the Syrian government in this regard.
In turn, President Al-Assad thanked the Iranian government and people for sending aid to support the Syrian government’s efforts in rescue and relief operations for those affected by the earthquake.
