Iran reveals negotiations for prisoner exchange with the United States

Tehran, (ST) – Iranian government spokesman Ali Rabiei revealed that negotiations are taking place between Iran and the United States on the prisoner exchange.

Rabiei said in a press conference today that “negotiations between the two sides are underway and more information will be announced in this regard if the two parties reach an agreement.”  He said that Iran is ready to exchange all American prisoners in exchange for the release of all Iranian prisoners around the world who were arrested by order of the United States.

 

The Special Assistant to the Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council for International Affairs, Hussein Amir Abdollahian, stressed that one of the priorities of the new government in Iran is to adopt a balanced foreign policy and establish active and dynamic relations with countries of the world, especially neighboring and Asian countries.

Abdullahian wrote on Instagram today that, “by reviewing the background, performance and positions of President-elect Ibrahim Raisi, it has become clear that a balanced, active and dynamic foreign policy is  among his priorities  – one that  establishes  relations with the  East and West, and strengthens  relations with neighboring  and Asian countries.”
