Iran: Repeated Israeli aggression on Syria blatant violation necessitates international accountability

Iran strongly condemned the recurrent attacks by the Zionist entity on Syrian lands and residential areas in Damascus and its countryside, which have claimed the lives of dozens of martyrs and wounded.

“The expansion of the scope of Zionist aggression and crimes to neighboring countries, and the repeated and blatant violation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Syria constitute, based on the UN Charter, a blatant aggression that requires urgent action by the UN Security Council.” IRNA news agency quoted Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baqaei as saying in a statement.

The spokesman added: “Those who provide weapons to the aggressor Zionist entity are involved and partners in its crimes,” noting that “the peoples of the region and the Islamic nation consider the US the largest political and military supporter of Israel and the accomplice in these crimes.”

On Thursday, fifteen people, including children and women, were killed and sixteen others were injured as a result of an Israeli aggression that targeted residential buildings in the Mazzeh neighborhood in Damascus and the Qudsaya area in its countryside.
