Iran’s Assistant Permanent Representative to the United Nations Zahra Ershadi said during a UN General Assembly meeting on Friday that the unilateral coercive measures imposed by western countries on the Syrian people should be completely lifted.
She also called for unconditional assistance in order to help the displaced Syrians return to their homeland and to prepare the ground in the country for reconstructing what terrorism has destroyed.
Ershadi also urged an immediate lifting of the inhuman blockade imposed on the Yemeni people and called for ending the war and reaching a peaceful solution to the crisis in order to put an end to the current disaster.
The Iranian diplomat pointed out that over the past two years, the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the miserable situation of both the refugees and the host countries, stressing that addressing such crises requires providing more COVID-19 vaccines particularly in the countries that host a large number of refugees.
