Iran Reiterates Support for Syria against Aggressors

TEHRAN, (ST) -Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdul Lahyan stressed Israel will pay for its blatant aggression against Syria.

During a meeting with Syria’s Ambassador in Tehran Dr. Adnan Mahmoud on Monday, Lahyan added that the Israeli brutal aggression came to compensate for the defeats of armed terrorist groups after they were hit by the Syrian Arab Army, explaining that the Israeli aggression against positions in Syria reinforces Iran will to fully support Syria until its security and stability are restored.

He pointed out that Syria ‘s enemies must be aware that their efforts to undermine Syria will never be materialized and that their support for terrorism will rebound on them.

For his part, Ambassador Mahmoud stressed close link between terrorist organizations , Israel and regional and Western countries that support terrorism in service of the Israeli agenda to weaken the resistance front in the region.

 

He noted that all the stormy events , targeted the region in the last decade, proved solidarity of the axis of resistance and its ability to defeat the American Israeli plans.

Meantime, spokesman for the Iranian foreign ministry Ramin Mehmanparast reiterated that the Syrian people are solely responsible for self-determination through free elections away from the interference of foreign powers that want to impose their agenda on the Syrian people and the region.

Fars news agency quoted Mehmanparast as saying in an interview in the southwestern of the country in Ahvaz city that what Syria is witnessing has nothing to do with internal issues , rather there are specific political goals behind, the most important is to eliminate any danger threatening the Zionist entity.
