Chairman of Expediency Council Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani on Tuesday recalled Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovina great capacities for economic cooperation, saying that Iran is the Bosnian real friend.
Rafsanjani made the remarks in a meeting with Bosnia-Herzegovina Parliament Speaker SefatSuftic.
Rafsanjani said that he was pleased with the visit of Bosnian officials to Iran.
Rafsanjani expressed deep concern about the humanitarian crises and the devastating conflicts in the region.
Rafsanjani said that your country, Bosnia-Herzegovina, is located in a sensitive region and you, of course, are literate, patient and experienced.
Expressing pleasure with establishment of peace among different tribes in former Yugoslavia, he said that Iran has proved its friendship toward the Bosnian nation. Of course, this friendship was not limited to the officials; rather the Iranian nation has friendly attitude to the Bosnian people.
Suftic, for his part, said that visit of the country’s officials to Tehran reveals his nation’s interest and tribute to Iran, hoping that the trips would help facilitate economic cooperation in various sectors.
‘Although our ties with Iran in certain ties were not at suitable levels, the Bosnian nation and government will never forget the Iranian nation and government’s assistance in hard days of conflict,’ he said.
Recalling Iran’s success in nuclear talks, he said that Iranian nation and government achieved them in light of their patience and resistance.
Iran, Bosnia haveclose views for settlement of regional disputes
Meanwhile, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Tuesdaythat Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovina have close views for settlement of the regional disputes.
He made the remarks after a meeting with Bosnia-Herzegovina House of Representative Speaker SefatSuftic in a news conference.
‘We always wish bright prospects for Bosnia-Herzegovina and will support the Bosnian territorial integrity as well as good ties among the ethnic groups of Bosnia.’
Larijani pointed out that his Bosnian counterpart’s visit to Iran reveals the country’s resolve to promote bilateral ties in the political, economic, scientific and cultural fields.
He further noted that today’s meeting with Suftic focused on exploring the grounds for economic relations between the two countries and both sides agreed to remove obstacles in the way of promoting ties.
‘We have close views on promoting parliamentary, scientific, cultural cooperation and settlement of regional disputes,’ he said.
Evaluating his counterpart’s visit to Tehran as positive, Larijani hoped that such diplomatic shuttles will bear practical and plausible outcome.
Suftic, heading a parliamentary delegation, arrived in Tehran on Sunday at the invitation of Larijani.
