The recognition of Palestine”s statute as a non-member observer state in the United Nations is an opportunity to restore the rights of Palestine, Iranian Foreign Minister Ramin Mehmanparast said here on Saturday, according to Prensa Latina.
As the president of the Non-Aligned Movement, Iran expresses its solidarity with Palestine, said Ramin Mehmanparast.
The non-member condition gives Palestine the possibility to denounce the war crimes committed by the Israeli regime before the international community, said the Iranian Foreign Minister.
He added that the Iranian government thinks the statute is “the first step for Palestine to earn complete sovereignty over its occupied lands, the return to their homeland and maintaining the resistance against Israel.
On November 29, the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) was supported by 138 UN members in its initiative to become a non-member observer state, despite an intense campaign by the United States and “Israel”.
