Vienna – NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Monday that Iran’s nuclear program has to be distinguished from the country’s missile capability.
Speaking at a press conference at NATO Headquarters in Brussels ahead of a foreign ministers meeting of the organization, Stoltenberg voiced NATO’s full support for the implementation of Iran nuclear deal.
NATO members are now focused on the full implementation of the deal because it will directly influence NATO allies, the official said.
NATO foreign ministers are to hold two-day of talks beginning Tuesday (December 5, 2017) to discuss the Alliance’s continuing adaptation in the face of diverse and evolving security challenges.
Iran urges EU to prevent US sabotage of JCPOA
On the other hand in Tehran, Iran’s first vice president in a meeting with Hungarian Minister for National Economy MihályVarga on Monday urged the European Union to prevent the US sabotage of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached between Iran and G5+1 in 2015.
‘Tehran expects the European Union (EU) to show more resistance towards sides that have plan to violate the JCPOA and prevent damaging this international agreement,’ EshaqJahangiri said during the meeting in a reference to the US sabotage of the nuclear deal.
He said that Iran has remained committed to its obligations, and expects all sides to be committed to their obligations.
Elaborating Iran’s policy, Jahangiri said that development of relations with the European Union, in particular Hungary, is top priority in Iran’s economic diplomacy.
He called for expansion of relations between Iran and Hungary in various fields of biotechnology, nanotechnology, tourism and transit.
Jahangiri referred to collapse of Daesh (ISIS) in Iraq and Syria and warned that the Takfiri group’s ideology is still alive in certain regional and western states.
