Iran N. Deal: Great victory for political solutions, humiliating defeat for warmongers

The agreement between Iran and P 5+1 countries regarding the Iranian nuclear issue is undoubtedly a significant victory with regards to Iran’s right to obtain peaceful nuclear technology and to enrich uranium on its soil, a right previously denied by the West. The success of the Iranian diplomacy in reaching the agreement is derived from the steadfastness of the Iranian people, their commitment to their rights and the unwavering stance of the Iranian leadership based on preserving Iran’s sovereignty and independent decision. The achievement comes to enshrine the right of all developing countries to acquire nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.  The deal is a great victory for dialogue and political solutions and a humiliating defeat for the language of threats, ultimatums and wars. It represents a triumph for the mentality of dialogue and diplomacy over the mentality of using force and interfering in the affairs of sovereign states. Reaching such historic deal is evidence that political solutions to the crises of the region are the best means to ensure the security and stability far from foreign intervention and threats to use force and launch devastating wars against independent states.

The deal will have a positive effect on faithful international efforts being exerted to preserve stability and security in the region and will open the door before countries to negotiate all issues transparently and far away from any foreign intervention and involvement in supporting terrorism to achieve certain political and economic interests and revive colonialist greediness of some states which occupied the Arab countries at the beginning of the 20th century, namely France and Britain which betrayed the Arabs following the Great Arab Revolt and the end of the Ottoman occupation.

Iran’s historic achievement shows that adhering to rights is a necessity for all those who seek to consecrate their stability and preserve their rights. Iran’s self-reliance and commitment to its rights enabled it to achieve something that seemed impossible. The deal is a result of changes in the region and the world due to Iran’s firm position, Russia’s strong role, and the move to a global multi-polar system that started to replace the uni-polar system which has brought disastrous wars and catastrophes in various part of the globe because of the US unilateral actions and adventurous wars in Iraq and Afghanistan under the pretext of combating terrorism.

The deal is a victory for the countries in the region which adhere to independence, resistance, make sacrifices and adopt cooperation against those that are subservient and regressive which fund mercenaries and terrorists, spread takfiri mentality and violate human lives. This agreement, which guarantees the Iranian people’s rights, strengthens faith in victory over Israel which seeks to prompt the US and the West to launch wars against the states that reject the Zionist project in the region.

This step is an essential contribution to the strengthening of the spirit of trust and understanding as well as the improvement of the situation in the Near and Middle East. The agreement is historic and it maintains the interests of the Iranian people and it recognizes the right of the Iranian people to use the nuclear power for peaceful purposes.  It allows Iran to continue its activities at Arak, Fordow and Natanz facilities. It also stipulates that no additional sanctions will be imposed on Tehran within the next six months because of its nuclear energy program.  Iran’s right to uranium enrichment is also enshrined.

This achievement highlighted the importance of the values of peace, cooperation and mutual respect. This positive progress will boost the efforts for holding a meeting for Establishing Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone in the Middle East. The deal will contribute to preserving peace and stability in the Middle East in terms of maintaining the international system of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. It will contribute to achieving security and stability in the region and be a start to free the Middle East of nuclear weapons and all weapons of mass destruction, including the Israeli nuclear arsenal. Iran has proven to the world its good intentions through this agreement and dispelled the tense relations between Iran and the West.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the agreement over Iran’s nuclear energy program as a “historic mistake,” that is bad for the Tel Aviv regime. Israel is refusing the U.S.-Iranian nuclear deal because it wants to create a scarecrow out of the Iranian nuclear program. It is hoped that the agreement would pave the way for international efforts to free the Middle East of all weapons of mass destruction, particularly after Syria’s accession to the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC). However, Israel remains the only obstacle preventing this objective from being achieved because it is the only side that possesses nuclear weapons and rejects to put its nuclear facilities under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) despite the fact that Israeli banned nuclear activities started in 1950s. Experts estimate that Israel has more than 200 nuclear heads. Mordechai Vanunu told the whole world about Israel’s nuclear weapons, having been walked in the nuclear weapons plant of Dimona in the Negev in occupied Palestine. It is illegally holding hundreds of nuclear weapons which have never been inspected, which are subject to no treaty. It is illegally holding hundreds of nuclear weapons which have never been inspected, which are subject to no treaty. Israel refuses even to confirm that it might be true that it is a nuclear weapons power. So, the demand will grow for the nuclear-weapons-free Middle East and that requires the destruction of Israel’s nuclear weapons armoury.

Some countries and entities felt threatened and panicked by the deal, especially Saudi Arabia and Israel, which proves these sides’ preference for the language of force, threat and interference over the logic of dialogue that is evident in their coordination regarding the events in Syria and their support for the armed terrorist groups to destroy Syria and kill the Syrian people. Some “radicals” and sides which were betting on aggression and war are disappointed, especially in Saudi Arabia and Israel, because their sinister plots against the states of the region are foiled through political solutions. Israel’s attitude towards the deal was not surprised because Israel is an entity based on aggression and threats as well as intervention in others’ affairs. The identical remarks of Israel and Saudi Arabia reflect political and security coordination between them. France had tried to hinder the deal through casting doubts on the Iranian stand. It is not strange that the three states are among the key players in creating the crisis in Syria through offering funds and weapons to the armed terrorist groups to press ahead with their devastating acts against Syrian people and their public and private properties.

Irked by Iran’s recently-sealed nuclear deal with the Sextet of world powers, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) has called on the US Congress to push for fresh sanctions against the Islamic Republic. The AIPAC statement said that congress must endorse additional sanctions, so that Iran will face immediate consequences should it renege on its commitments or refuse to negotiate an acceptable final agreement.  The pro-Israel lobby group called on the US Congress to strictly oversee the initial agreement and ensure Iranian compliance.  The new nuclear deal will end in failure if the US Congress imposes fresh sanctions against Iran because of the inability of one party to maintain their side of the bargain.

The nuclear deal between Tehran and the six world powers is good for the Middle East and its security. This agreement is not bad for any country in the region and is in fact necessary for regional security.  Iran and most of the Arab countries support the issue of clearing the region of nuclear and mass destruction weapons, and this does not mean depriving the states, which are members of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, from the peaceful use of nuclear power. Iran, Syria and the majority of the Arab states support establishing a region free of nuclear and mass destruction weapons.  Israel should be pressed as to put its nuclear facilities under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The deal must be a base for safe and stable future in the region. The deal will also positively reflect on the security and stability of Europe. If the Iran deal is put into practice, the stated reason for the construction of the defence shield will no longer apply.
