Iran Missile Tests Do Not Violate UN Resolutions, Says Borujerdi

Iran’s missile tests do not violate UN resolutions and the allegations made by German chancellor and United Nations secretary-general are politically-motivated, Member of Parliament Alaeddin Borujerdi said on Saturday.

Iran missile tests have nothing to do with the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), he said adding that Iranian missiles are not able to carry warheads and they are being manufactured for defense purpose in line with the rights of the governments to secure defense capability.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has indicated good faith to implement the JCPOA, he said adding that Iranian government has the right to employ weapons and facilities to defend the country’s territorial integrity and thwart threats to the national sovereignty.

Iranian officials at the defense ministry for many times have underlined that there is no room for other countries to be concerned about Iran’s missile tests as the tests are merely for defense purpose, he said.

The allegations made by German chancellor and UN secretary general are in line with a new plot against Iran, he said adding that western heads of states have restored to politically-motivated and unprofessional allegations of some people but the Iranian Foreign Ministry will give them diplomatic response.
