Iran, Iraq Underline Continued Efforts to Check Terrorism

Baghdad – Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Jawad Kadhim Al-Abadi and Iran’s Ambassador to Baghdad Hassan Danaiefar on Wednesday underlined continuation of efforts to check terrorism both in the region and the world.

The two sides in the meeting here discussed a variety of subjects, including Tehran-Baghdad cooperation and relations and security condition in the region and Iraq.

Iran and Iraq share more than 1,000 km of common borders, having ties in tourism, commerce and pilgrimage. Their ties are in highest possible level in the region.

The level and quality of cooperation is to the extent that Iraqi officials admit the two sides’ borders are the safest worldwide under present security condition in the Middle East.

Also, over two million pilgrims and tourists visit the two sides and the figure is expected to increase drastically in the coming years.
