Iran, EU Discuss JCPOA Implementation

Vienna  –  Iran’s head of JCPOA Implementation Committee Abbas Araqchi and EU Deputy Foreign Policy Chief Helga Schmid met in Vienna on Saturday and discussed execution of the July 14 nuclear deal, according to IRNA.

The meeting which was held on the sidelines of the Syria peace talks conference also reviewed redesigning the Arak heavy-water reactor.

Prior to the Vienna meeting, delegates from Iran, US, and EU which represents the P5+1 group of world powers, convened in Geneva to negotiate issuing the statements on removal of sanctions against Iran.

Arak reactor redesign document ready by Monday, says Araqchi

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said signatures to the official document of redesigning the Arak heavy-water nuclear reactor will be finalized by Monday.

‘Signatures of the P5+1 foreign ministers are being collected on a rotating basis and will be completed by Monday,’ he added.

Araqchi who is also Iran’s head of JCPOA Implementation Committee, made the comments after meeting EU Deputy Foreign Policy Chief Helga Schmid in Vienna discussing execution of the July 14 nuclear deal.

Post-sanctions Iran to enter new phase of nuclear activities

On the other hand  in Tehran,  Deputy Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Asghar Zarean says that Iran will enter new phase of nuclear activities after removal of sanctions.

Speaking to a group of ambassadors who visited Natanz nuclear site, Zareansaid the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) upgraded status of Iran and its dignity and authority in the scientific and international circles.

He said after the JCPOA, Iran will enter the new phase of nuclear activities with a bright prospect.

He also said Iran nuclear industries activities will never stop and the country will witness new achievements in the scientific and technological domains thanks to efforts of domestic experts and international cooperation.

He added that the JCPOA has recognized Iran’s right of enrichment and other AEOI activities in the fields of R&D are going on in light of self-confidence and national pride.
