The Hague (ST): Iran’s permanent representative at the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons Ali Reda Kathemi Abdi was elected by the Asian Group as Deputy Chairman of the Organization.
The Iranian News Agency quoted Kathemi Abdi as saying in response to the US envoy’s rejection of the selection that the election of Iran as Deputy Chairman of the Organization was the outcome of the unanimous vote of the member states of the Asian Group.
He added that the US had proved earlier that it does not respect international laws or the UN organizations, and it has been the main sponsor of terrorist organizations, especially in the Middle East region.
He concluded that throughout its horrible record, the US is not qualified to present itself as a state combating terrorism.
